Yes. A fitness grading workout will be released in the next announcement.
It's important that we know your Grading Workout results so we can start you in the right place.
Complete the workout as soon as possible and submit your time (individual or team).
IMPORTANT: If you fail to complete Workout #1 at the event, within the designated time, you will be disqualified from the Workout #1 related shooting components. If you haven't been assigned a grade by event-day check-in, you will be graded by our staff at the completion of workout #1, then at the discretion of the Match Director, you may be permitted to complete the remaining workouts and shooting exercises based on your grade level.

You must complete two qualification drills:
Qualification #1: Dry-fire only required. Can be performed at home with a toy or gel-blaster. Must be filmed and submitted for assessment.
Qualification #2: Live-fire only. Options: i) Perform and film it at your workplace/local range and send to us for approval, or ii) Complete it in-person at City of Brisbane Pistol Club (COBPC). Contact COBPC directly: (07) 3398 8700
-
Currently, COBPC is the only affiliated club in Qld.
However, most practical pistol clubs in Queensland uphold solid safety and instructional standards.
For dryfire training, you do not need a range or instructor - use a toy or gel-blaster at home.
-
Follow these four steps: 1. Dryfire with a toy or gel-blaster at home. 2. Film and submit Qualification #1. 3. Practice Qualification #2 with a gel-blaster. 4. Book live-fire training and Qualification #2 at COBPC to be completed at least 2 weeks before the event.
-
Currently, Tier-1 Games rules are not yet recognised in every state, so there are no affiliated clubs.
You have two options:
Option A:
Join your local IPSC or practical pistol club.
Begin their training and membership process - this aligns well with Tier-1 standards.
Option B (Recommended):
Dryfire with a toy or gel-blaster at home.
Film and submit Qualification #1.
Practice Qualification #2 with a toy or gel-blaster.
Arrive in Brisbane several days before the event.
Complete dry-fire training at The Mill Gym Brisbane (Stafford) using gel-blasters.
Then complete your live-fire training at COBPC (Belmont).
Bookings:
Email us for gel-blaster session bookings.
Call COBPC for live-fire bookings: (07) 3398 8700.
Note: Training fees apply. Discount packages will be announced soon via email.
-
Until Tier-1 rules are recognised nationally, there are no interstate affiliates. You may:

Option B: i) Follow the instructions outlined in Q.7 above. ii) Arrive in Brisbane a few days early. iii) Complete dry-fire training at The Mill Gym Brisbane. iv) Finish your live-fire assessment at COBPC.

Yes. The Tier-1 Brisbane Experience recognises prior firearms training and competitive shooting experience.
Shooting RPL – Automatic Qualification Criteria
If you meet one of the following criteria, you are automatically qualified for the live-fire component and do not need to complete the Tier-1 qualification drills:
1. City of Brisbane Pistol Club – IPSC Members
Must be a current member of COBPC and actively participate in IPSC competitions.
Your safety handling and competitive experience align with Tier-1 standards.
2.. IPSC Australia – B Grade or Higher
Must hold a current IPSC Australia grading of B Grade or above in handgun competition.
This classification demonstrates sufficient technical competence and match experience.
-
If you are not a COBPC IPSC member or not graded B or higher by IPSC Australia, you are required to:
Complete the Tier-1 Qualification #1 (filmed and submitted).
Complete the Tier-1 Qualification #2 (either recorded at your own range or in person at City of Brisbane Pistol Club).

We're still waiting on final approvals from the regulating bodies. Being a brand-new sport at this stage, we still have to meet well established regulations for each event, and this takes time.
We're working as hard as possible in the background to get this information to you as soon as possible.
Rest assured the entry fees will be in alignment with the most popular fitness competitions held in Australia. The only difference will be the addition of a cost-price ammunition pack for each participant specifically designed for the shooting phases of our unique events.

Tier-1 Athletes are graded according to the Performance Shooting Sports Ltd (performanceshootingsports.org) grading system. The grades are Novice, Intermediate, Exponent, Elite and Apex.
Athletes are graded for strength and stamina and shooting speed and accuracy. Therefore, individual and team stage tactics play an important role in improving grade levels. Ensuring you understand your strengths and weaknesses in technical movement, fitness, shooting proficiency, speed accuracy, and stage planning.
For the teams, games strategy and stage communication is also critical.
We’ll publish more information on these grades and how they’re assessed in coming posts.
