FIREARMS QUALIFICATION STANDARDS ARE SUBJECT TO:

PERFORMANCE SHOOTING SPORTS

PERFORMANCE SHOOTING SPORTS LTD IS THE REGULATING BODY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RULES, REGULATIONS AND COMPETITION FORMAT OF ALL WORKOUT AND SHOOTING ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED AT THE TIER-1 GAMES.

THEIR POLICIES ACT AS THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR MANAGING ALL SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE ACTIVITIES OF THE TIER-1 GAMES.

HOST GUN-CLUB conditions

THE HOST GUN CLUB (HGC) HAS PRE-DETERMINED MINIMUM SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATING IN ANY SHOOTING ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED AT THEIR CLUB.

THE CLUB HAS FINAL SAY IN WHO PARTICIPATES IN THESE ACTIVITIES.

PERSONS OF GOOD STANDING

The Tier-1 Games ARE ALSO SUBJECT TO STATE FIREARMS REGULATIONS.

TIER-1 GAMES IS COMMITTED TO GROWING A SPORTING COMMUNITY WHICH PROMOTES THE BEST ASPECTS OF HEALTH AND FITNESS AND SPORT SHOOTING COMPETITION.

A CRITICAL ELEMENT TO ENSURING WE ACHIEVE THIS GOAL IS TO ENSURE WE ARE COMPLIANT WITH STATE REGULATIONS, WHICH INCLUDES ENSURING ALL PARTICIPANTS DECLARE THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO UNDERTAKE A NATIONAL POLICE CLEARANCE CHECK UPON REGISTRATION. THE HOST GUN CLUB WILL CONDUCT THIS CHECK UPON CHECK-IN FOR THE EVENT.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Fitness & Firearms Grading – Every participant will be assessed to ensure they are placed in the appropriate level for training and performance.

  • Pre-Event Firearms Safety Training – You do not need to be a licensed firearms owner to participate. All participants must complete a rigorous firearms safety training course and pass a qualification safety standard before attending. (See below).   • Novice to HIGH-Level Workouts – Engage in functional, real-world fitness challenges.

  • Guided Shooting Challenges – Learn precision, speed, and control in a safe and controlled environment under the supervision qualified Range Officers.

  • Community & Networking – Connect with fellow fitness and firearms enthusiasts, grow your skillset, and become part of Australia’s most cutting-edge performance community.

  • NO PARTNER - NO PROBLEM. WE’LL MATCH YOU UP WITH A PARTNER OF EQUAL FITNESS AND SHOOTING EXPERIENCE, ON THE DAY.

SAFETY FIRST

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION

Safety is our top priority. To maximise what you get out of the experience, mandatory training is required in the lead up to the experience. All attendees must pass a safety qualification before attending the event. This ensures strict safety standards for participants, spectators, and staff.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Complete two shooting exercises demonstrating competency in FIREARMS handling, spatial awareness, and accuracy.

  • Must be completed at least two weeks before the event.

  • Failure to qualify does not guarantee a refund, but tickets may be transferred to a waitlisted competitor.

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

Strict conditions apply:

  • 18+ years of age

  • Firearms license is NOT required.

  • Provide original government-issued photo ID at check-in (physical or approved digital ID)

  • Complete online waiver on registration.

  • NATIONAL POLICE CLEARANCE (NPC) CHECKS WILL BE CONDUCTED UPON CHECK-IN FOR THE EVENT. COMPETITORS MAY ELECT TO INDEPENDENTLY APPLY FOR THIS CERTIFICATE AND BRING THIS CERTIFICATE UPON CHECK-IN AT THE EVENT. NOTE: NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN IF A COMPETITOR FAILS TO QUALIFY FOR A NPC CERTIFICATE UPON CHECK-IN.

  • Qualify via one of the following:

    • Online shooting training + practical qualification

    • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for qualified shooters

SHOOTING SAFETY

QUALIFICATION

Safety is our top priority. All attendees must pass a safety qualification before competing. This ensures strict safety standards for athletes, spectators, and staff.

IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMPETITOR TO ENSURE THEY UNDERTAKE THE APPROPRIATE TRAINING TO ENSURE THAT THEY MEET THE QUALIFICATION STANDARDS PRIOR TO THE EVENT.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Complete two shooting exercises demonstrating competency in FIREARM handling, spatial awareness, and accuracy.

  • Must be completed at least two weeks before the event. FIRST-TIME INTERSTATE COMPETITORS - CONTACT OUR TEAM TO ARRANGE ALTERNATE TIMINGS.

  • Failure to qualify does not guarantee a refund, but tickets may be transferred to a waitlisted participant.

Additional Training:

  • Optional performance shooting training is available.

  • For competitions Tier-1 uses Hit-Factor Scoring: points scored divided by time, emphasizing both speed and accuracy.

  • Online training material included with event registration.

  • Private/group training available by appointment at the club.

SHOOTING RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Automatic qualification applies to:

  • HOST GUN Club (HGC) APPROVED members

  • IPSC Australia B-grade (or above) members

  • TIER-1 GAMES EXPONENT, ELITE AND APEX GRADED ATHLETES (SUBJECT TO HGC APPROVAL)


QUALIFICATION

STANDARDS

QUALIFICATION 1: “V3 PKS”

CONDITIONS:

  • Can be completed dry fire, live fire, or with a gel blaster

  • Completed at HOST GUN Club or via video submission TO TIER-1 GAMES

  • Par Time: 15 seconds

    (Dry fire adds 2 seconds to the par time. Manually rack the slide to lock it open before removing magazine)

  • ACCURACY: LIVE-FIRE - ALL ROUNDS ON TARGET (A, C OR D ZONE)

  • ROUND COUNT: 18 ROUNDS

Setup:

  • Start position: STANDING BEHIND Two chairs 2M APART, forming aN equilateral triangle.

  • Three targets (one at 5m beyond each chair, one centered).

  • Three magazines (6 rounds each).

  • Gun and two magazines on the left chair, one magazine on the right chair.

Procedure:

  1. ON THE START SIGNAL, Move to left chair, load THE FIREARM

  2. ADOPT THE PRONE POSITION THEN engage left & centRE targets (3 rounds each TARGET).

  3. Unload, move to right chair, retrieve the magazine, perform a slide lock reload.

  4. ADOPT THE KNEELING POSITION AND Engage THE right & centRE targets (3 rounds each TARGET).

  5. Unload, return to left chair, retrieve the magazine, perform a slide lock reload.

  6. FROM THE STANDING POSITION, Engage left & centrE targets (3 rounds each TARGET).

  7. Unload and show clear.

NOTE: AT THE END OF THIS DRILL THE LEFT HAND TARGET WILL RECORD 6 ROUNDS FIRED, THE CENTRE TARGET WILL RECORD 9 ROUNDS FIRED AND THE RIGHT-HAND TARGET WILL RECORD 3 ROUNDS FIRED AT IT.

Safety Requirements:

  • Firearm must remain pointed within designated angles.

  • Trigger guard must remain clear except when aiming.

  • Support hand must not extend past the firearm.


Qualification 2: "6 Aces"

CONDITIONS:

  • Live fire only.

  • Completed at THE HOST GUN Club or via video submission if done at another range.

  • Par Time: 12 seconds

  • Accuracy: No misses allowed

Setup:

  • Three targets: two at 3m, one at 6m.

  • Table setup: Gun unloaded, three magazines (2 rounds each).

Procedure:

  1. On start signal, engage each target with 2 shots.

  2. Perform a slide lock reload between each target.

  3. Unload and show clear.

Safety Requirements:

  • Gun must remain pointed within target boundaries.

  • Trigger guard must remain clear except when aiming.

  • Support hand must not extend past the firearm.
